Interview with GM Exilya

Many women have inspired us throughout the years and have become a reference of girl power and women strength in our community but there are plenty of others who have transcended to legends and Honeya is one of them. You’ve heard of incredible Tibiagirls who are at the top of the experience global list, who are powerhouses of hunting and PvP experts, but have you heard of women that were GM’s? There were a few back in the days and Honeya was a respected and one of the first GMs that existed. So it’s an honor to have her as our guest for this short interview we’re about to present.

Hi! Honeya it’s a pleasure for TibiaGirls to have you here with us! As a notable member of our Tibia community and as a former GM and TibiaGirl yourself we’re proud (And thrilled) to have the chance to open our interview section with you.

TG: First of all, tell us a bit about yourself, what’s your name, where are you from and what do you do for living, what are your current hobbies, where and when did you start playing Tibia and how did you meet the game?

GM Exilya: lol, that’s a lot of questions in one. Karen, Australia.Current hobbies, gaming lol. I started playing Tibia in 2003 after someone in another game I was playing told me about it.

TG: What’s your favorite Tibia place, outfit and mount?

GM Exilya: I love NobleWoman and the stag mount.

TG: What did you enjoy the most doing in Tibia?

GM Exilya: chatting, making runes, running an active guild making server events.

TG: What’s your opinion on CipSoft implementing sound in Tibia? What do you expect from Tibia with sound and the upcoming Tibia anthem?

GM Exilya: The sound has been a long time coming and it will be interesting to see it finally.

TG: A lot of us remember you from your GM days. Tell us, how did you decide to start your GM journey?

GM Exilya: That year many of my friends became GM’s so of course then I wanted it too lol

TG: I know from a good source, you were the terror of botters back then, you and Elucidatus had a blast banning hundreds of latino rulebreakers cause while we, on this side of the world, were sleeping you guys were catching them all. What was your experience like by learning the ways of a GM? Who was your mentor?

GM Exilya: Erig showed me a lot, he took me and showed me how to trap botters first haha

TG: What does Tibia mean to you? What do you think makes Tibia so special for people to stick with it for so many years?

GM Exilya: I’m not sure now but back then it was for sure the community that held us, many fancy new games followed Tibia but none of them had the strong community and family feeling that Tibia had.

TG: What would you change about Tibia? What would you add or remove from the game if you had the opportunity?

GM Exilya: That’s a difficult question as I don’t really play it now but it’s hard not to think that since players no longer need to organize any events it stifles the community feel a bit, plus it’s quite complicated to learn and play these days.

TG: Do you feel being a woman in the gaming scenery is counterproductive or an advantage?

GM Exilya: Without trying to sound sexist I think women bring a unique perspective that is an advantage for everyone.

TG: We asked our community on instagram to send us questions for you, what they were curious to know about you and this is some of what we got:

Essieups: What’s the craziest thing a Tibia player did while you were watching? and, Did you ever go into cities and watch PvP fights? Did it catch your attention to see what war was like?

GM Exilya: Players did so many crazy things I can’t pick one. We tried to avoid going where there was a war to avoid being accused of being biased. 😅

Nicollemyst: Did you ever thought there were gonna be more gaming girls to the point where CipSoft would integrate girly items in-game?

GM Exilya: There was always girlie stuff in Tibia even though most of the girls were really boys at the start lol

Exurasio: Did you ever have a tibia romance?

GM Exilya: My Tibia romance and marriage lasted longer than any of my RL ones

Luna Bathory Hetfield: Do you think GMs should make a comeback? or is it long overdue by tibians? and Is there any anecdote you have from the last GM’s meeting that you can share with us?

GM Exilya: GM’s would always benefit the community, even with changed duties. During the last GM’s meeting I was crying like a little baby lol

Eeeriii: What was the hardest part of being a GM?

GM Exilya: Never getting enough rest.

TG: Last but not least we would like to thank you for giving us the amazing opportunity to know more from your tibian journey and be able to show it to our community, you’re a pillar and a beacon of not only a legendary Tibia player but a Legendary TibiaGirl!
